Melbourne, Australia: dorsaVi Ltd (ASX: DVL) has today announced that the UK’s Network Rail (High Speed) Ltd will use dorsaVi’s ViSafe to better understand movement associated with the work undertaken by its overhead contact system and track maintenance teams.
Network Rail (High Speed) Ltd are contracted to maintain and manage the track, infrastructure and three main stations along the route from the Channel Tunnel to St Pancras and place great focus on the safety and welfare of its workforce. To that end, they have moved to introduce ViSafe technology to objectively measure the stress and strain undertaken by its track and overhead contact system teams.
This is the second major rail network to use ViSafe in the UK with Transport for London, the operator of the London Underground rail network, undertaking multiple assessments to identify manual handling tasks that are contributing to increased risk of musculoskeletal injury. dorsaVi and Transport for London won the Design Innovation Award at the UK Rail Industry Awards last year for its ground breaking work to address workplace injury.
